America's Cup in Plymouth 2011

The staff at the Invicta Hotel are looking forward to the America's Cup, set to arrive on the shores of Plymouth this September.

The America's Cup is an epic sailing event, the biggest in the sailing calendar:

" The America’s Cup is a trophy awarded to the winner of the America’s Cup match races between two yachts. One yacht, known as the defender, represents the yacht club who is the current holder of the America’s Cup and the second yacht, known as the challenger, represents the yacht club which is challenging for the cup. The America’s Cup is the oldest active trophy in international sport (started in 1851). " - Source Wiki

Make sure you visit the Plymouth Hoe area during the 10th - 18th September to witness this vast sailing event. There will be live entertainment and events occuring throughout and with over 200,000+ people expected to enter Plymouth to watch the America's Cup teams go head to head it should be a sight not to miss!
